The Battle of Oriskany, New York took place on Wednesday August 06, 1777. The leaders of Great Britain is Chief Joseph Brant, John Butler, Sir Jon Jonson. The U.S. Colony  leaders were Nicholas Herkimer, Peter Gansevoort . Great Britain had an army of 500 men with 95 killed, 57 wounded and 10 captured. U.S. Colonies had an army of 800 men with 385 killed,  50 wounded and 30 captured.        It was one of the bloodiest battles of the Revolutionary War and a significant engagement of the Saratoga  Campaign. The results of the battle remain unknown.
